This online show is designed for riders who want to demonstrate correct jumping technique, an independent position and balanced riding while jumping a course.
For this class, the focus is on the rider’s ability rather than the horse’s jumping ability. Riders are assessed on their position, balance, control and technique before and during the jumping course. Riders should maintain a light, balanced and independent position throughout.
Your rosette and prizes (depending on sponsors and placing) are posted in the following month.

What is Fine Contact jumping?
Fine Contact focuses on developing a light and balanced connection while allowing the horse to move freely. Riders may use a neck ring or a simple bitless side-pull bridle, according to the class requirements. Please get in touch if you are using any other type of bitless bridle.
The aim is to demonstrate that the rider can maintain an effective position and communicate with the horse while keeping their balance and control over the course.
What are the judges looking for?
Judges will assess the rider’s ability to:
- Maintain a balanced and independent riding position
- Demonstrate good jumping technique
- Maintain balance and control before, during and after the jump
- Ride appropriate changes of pace
- Maintain a consistent rhythm and effective track
- Remain balanced and independent throughout the course
- Demonstrate clear and harmonious communication with the horse
Who can enter?
The Jump in Style – Fine Contact class is suitable for riders who want to challenge themselves in an online jumping competition while concentrating particularly on rider position, balance and jumping technique. The height of the jumps is entirely up to the rider.
It is an opportunity to receive professional feedback through a competition protocol and compare your performance with other EquiMind competitors.
