What is an online Western Horsemanship competition?

It is a video-based Western riding class in which a rider completes a set pattern for judging.

Which levels are available?

Small Fry (for younger or beginner competitors up to 12 years).

Walk/Jog (for competitors riding at walk and jog without a lope).

Novice (for riders developing their Western Horsemanship skills and competing at novice level with lope).

Open (for experienced competitors riding an open-level pattern).

What is judged?

Judges assess the rider’s accuracy, position, lines, angles, transitions, control and overall performance according to the class rules.

Which arena can I use?

We suggest a 20 x 40 metre or 20 x 60 metre arena but for most Western classes an open area with correctly placed markers wis fine, as long as the surface is safe for horse and rider.

Do the patterns vary by level?

Yes, the patterns vary between levels.

How do I submit my video?

Choose and purchase your level, film the pattern and submit the video according to the EquiMind submission instructions.

When do I receive my result?

We publish all results together after the monthly deadline, once all videos have been received and judged.

We value your privacy very much and will only publish your first name and your horses name. On request, we only publish your initials.
