Online Western Photo Competition
Enter EquiMind’s online Western horse photo competition with a photograph of you and your horse or pony. Ridden and in-hand photographs are welcome. Entries are judged on the rider’s or handler’s position, visible aids, movement and harmony, based only on what can be seen in the photograph.
Please keep in mind that our professional judge can only judge what is visible on your photo!
PHOTO TYPES: You can submit a photograph showing ridden or in-hand Western work. Both the horse or pony and the rider or handler must be visible, at least partly, in the photograph.

JUDGING CRITERIA:
- Rider’s seat or handler’s position
- Visible aids
- Movement
- Harmony between horse and rider or handler
- Overall quality of the moment captured
RULES:
- The horse or pony and rider or handler must both be visible
- Riders must wear a helmet or suitable riding hat
- The photograph must be your own or submitted with permission
- Copyrighted images must not be submitted
- The photograph must not be digitally altered if that remains part of the rules

What type of photograph can I enter?
You can enter a clear full-body photograph of a ridden or loose jumping horse. The photograph must show enough detail for the judge to assess the entry.
Does the jump have to be a certain height?
No. The class is judged on style, movement, the rider’s position and harmony rather than the height of the jump.
Can beginners enter?
Yes. Riders of different experience levels can enter, provided the photograph meets the class requirements.
What should the rider wear?
The rider must wear a riding helmet.
How do I submit my photograph?
Add the class to your basket and follow the current EquiMind show instructions and submission page.
What prizes are available?
The class may include a rosette, gift voucher, judge’s protocol and possibly other prizes listed for the current show.
