Where do I start…
My name is Laura, and I am 19 years old. I live near Bremen in Germany, together with my horse and dogs.
I started riding at the age of 5 but have seen of me as a 3 year old sitting on a lead rein pony. So, my parents bought me a pony, a German riding pony named Mr. Boombastic.
Boombastic times
Mr Boombastic taught me riding! I remember all the hacks and the fun we had together. Sadly, I got older and taller, and Mr Boombastic found another little rider to have fun.
Big Bella
I nearly fell off when I rode Belle Amie, my Bella❤️, for the very first time. She had been hand-reared by the breeder’s parents and literally stood in her box or field all day long since the parents didn’t ride. She was only 6 and quite green.
But, I knew from the moment I saw her standing in that stable that she was MY horse ?. We bought her, and the long journey started…
I did all training myself, even the trailer training, and in spring 2018, we proudly showed up at our very first dressage competition. We looked like a million dollars but walked with a catastrophic 4.9 out of the arena. Man, I was so proud of Bella! ?
We had reached one of our stars that moment!
And what about 2020?
There was no stopping for us until Spring 2020, and eventually, we managed to get some very respectable scores, and even 1st places, in Novice and Elementary classes❤️?.
With Corona and my studies, we hit some hard times though. You simply cannot go to shows, and my time is very limited anyway. That’s when I discovered EquiMind and their Online Equestrian Shows!! ❤️ Here, we can show and test our skills and engage actively with other dressage riders. It keeps me and Bella fit and inspires us to try some harder classes!
And, since we don’t have to travel, we have still time for some fun (and of course my studies which I will hopefully master as well). ?
